The Jiao Tong University Students Summer camps have been scientifically prepared to bring to the surface and liberate latent leadership and managerial potential. It also teaches them famous Chinese Confucian ethics: to be patient, non-confrontational and trains them to maximize the potential of their peers while utilizing latent talents of each individual, for the benefit of the group.

FOREIGN COURSE MATES
Foreign students will meet their foreign and chinese course mates during the activity and hobby courses and in this way make new friends easily, and possibly for life. Meeting and playing with chinese friends will not only enhance your child’s social skills but also his/her Mandarin Chinese language ability as he/she can practice in Chinese with their new Chinese friends.

A host of educational activities as listed below can be selected to suit the interests and/or hobbies of your child such as Robot design and building, painting, drawing,musical instruments,horse riding,swimming,martial arts and a plethora of exciting subjects.

CURRICULUM
The Chinese Language courses are the academic component in the Jiao Tong University Summer Camps.
The proposed Summer camp curriculum is printed below and involves comprehensive teaching of :
Chinese language listening, speaking, reading and writing.
A steep improvement of the students overall language skills are to be expected.
Special attention is paid also to history and culture.
Classes in handicrafts, music, drawing and painting, digital photography, martial arts, horse swimming etc.
will be staged in smaller groups, based on the interest of the student.

12.00 – 13.00 Relaxation and rest time
13.00- 14.00 Intensive Chinese language lessons.

Continuation courses
The Jiao Tong University Summer camps are staged in blocks of ten day periods.
Discounts apply for students staying more than two periods;
lessons are continuous and sequential.(Sorry, no discount on accomodation expenses)
At the end of the sixth period. most students should be able to hold much improved meaningful conversations with their Chinese speaking friends with also hugely improved reading and writing.
Activities:
The students will really enjoy the many activities that can be pursued and which have been designed specifically to engender logical andindependent thinking of the student. They will learn to think “out of the box”, that is to think creatively and improving the creative thinking of your budding young Edison or, perhaps, young Einstein.

Special projects have been designed to teach the designing, building and racing of robots, design and building of electronic and electrical gadgets like REAL functioning radios, home security alarms etc, the building of wooden models like ships and airplanes and much more.

For the more artistically inclined, there are painting and drawing classes, calligraphy, paper cutting, martial arts, ping-pong games, ball games etc.



Even horse riding, Swimming and Golf lessons are available at an extra charge.


Summarizing, the following activities can be pursued under the careful tutelage of experienced child-instructors and teachers.

During the art and craft and hobby classes, students are free to release the pressure and have a great opportunity to hone their artistic skills

Evening leisure activities, weekend trips etc can be arranged for by mutual agreement at some additional cost.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES BY SPECIAL AGREEMENT .

ACCOMODATION
Students will stay in safe and supervised University accommodation, usually with 4 or 6 students per room.
Local students living nearby may go home at night if required .
A reduction of the tuition fee of 5% may then be applied.
INSURANCE
Once the tuition fee is paid in full, your children are insured for accidents and hospitalization while at the Summer camp.
Parents and guardians are urged to check the conditions of the insurance policy (available upon application) and decide if they wish to purchase additional insurance cover.
