Digital Photography Course

This course will focus on the basic aspects of digital photography and is intended for beginners. It will require from its participants to own a digital reflex camera, a DSLR (digital single lens reflex) and a lens, with no particular specification of brand.
We will deal with the understanding of digital photography as an art form and as a technical, technology-induced craftsmanship. Therefore, the teaching will be both theoretical and practical and will take place both indoors and outdoors. Students will be pushed to experiment, comment and interact as much as possible in an effort to adapt the content of the course to what are their expectations. Nonetheless, basic technical and esthetical knowledge being needed to make a good photographer, some topics and some literature will have to be absorbed along the class: in order to forget the techniques, you have to master them!
We will intend to give you the basic knowledge needed to fly with your own wings and grow as an every day artist. Beauty is everywhere around us and it takes only a little to be able to capture the full extent of it. Each person has a different way of visually perceiving the environment around him and therefore everyone is able to deliver unique photographs. This only requires having the knowledge to do so.

- Understanding & using light: natural light & artificial light (flash and strobes)
- Studio photography for people & products
- Improving your photographs using photoshop
- Understanding & using digital image formats
- Sharing your photographs: printing & web
Tuition fee: RMB 3800 (30 hours)
